Important warning about Fish Oil.

It is a mistake to shop for the cheapest one. REASON WHY?

FISH oil comes in two forms: "ethyl-ester" and "triglyceride". The ethyl-ester form is cheaper to manufacture but it also is HARDER to digest and very prone to rancidity.

Therefore,

you absorb a smaller amount of vital EPA and DHA fatty acids, plus the rancidity increase inflammation(cheap fish oil is non-distilled and mix with waste that comes from the fish oil itself)

In contrast,

the triglyceride form is 1.7 times more absorbable, plus it is a natural form that is more stable and less likely to turn rancid. It is also less likely to cause you to BURP a fishy odor.

The 2nd BIG issue with fish oil is purity.

Fish oil may contain heavy metals or environmental chemicals. So it is wise to purchase from a supplier who can verify that their product is PURE.

So here's your buying guideline:

** Label should say "Triglyceride form". If the label does not say that, do not buy it.

** Can the manufacturer verify that the product is pharmaceutical grade and free of contaminants? If not, look for another product.

So...good to choose Omega Guard from Shaklee.

Intake of fish oil....time of consumption.

Should be taken with meal, meaning that you take 1 capsule first and then you eat your breakfast or lunch.

It help to trigger the insulin sensitivity...(important for food digestion) NOT to be eaten just after your breakfast or lunch. It will reduce the effectiveness of the Omega.

Remember not to be taken at night just before you go to sleep, where body having the least water during this time and blood viscosity. Body temperature will also increase.

That is why, you are advice to drink minimum of 3 liter of water in a day...

Shaklee "Gout" Set

How to fight gout pain?

Gout is an excruciatingly painful form of arthritis that often effects the feet.

Dietary factors, such as red meat and alcohol, can trigger gout pain. However, medications and medical conditions can be a problem too, says Kenneth G. Saag, MD, a rheumatologist at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

"Non-food items are the major risk factors for developing gout,"

Shaklee "Gout" Set

- Alfalfa

- Performance Drink

- Omega Guard/Advance Joint Health Tablet.

9 Triggers which could be causing you gout pain.

1-Aspirin.
Aspirin drives up the amount of uric acid in your blood. At high enough levels, uric acid deposits in joints (especially in the big toe and fingers) and forms the razor-sharp crystals responsible for gout.

2-Diuretics
Diuretics help reduce blood pressure by flushing water and salt from the body. At the same time, they block the excretion of uric acid from the kidneys, which can allow uric acid to accumulate to gout.

3-Dehydration

"Dehydration can increase the blood uric acid concentration, and in susceptible individuals such an increase can contribute to a gout attack," Theodore Vanitallie, MD, professor emeritus of medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York.

Aim to drink around eight cups of water a day, Dr. Vanitallie

4-Extra Weight
Research suggests that obesity itself ups gout risk by both stimulating the body to make more uric acid and blocking uric acid excretion.

5-Fasting
"Trying to lose weight by fasting can put you at risk of gout attack," Dr. Vanitallie

6-Menopause
This is because estrogen, a hormone that helps the kidneys excrete uric acid, dips during and after menopause.

7-Injury
"A traumatic event can start a small inflammatory response, which may then precipitate a gout attack in that joint," Dr. Vanittalie.

8-Uncomfortable shoes

"That combination of having high uric acid, being predisposed to gout, and wearing shoes that are hurting your feet, that could do it," Dr. Vanitallie.

9-Family History
About 20% of people with gout have a family history of the condition.

If you do, be aware of other risk factors, especially as you age. (Men in their mid-40s are at the highest risk of gout; post-menopausal women are at increasing risk as they age.)
